139 Hawks earn USA South Academic All-Conference honors
FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. – More than 130 Huntingdon College student-athletes were recognized with the release of the USA South Academic All-Conference team on Monday.
A total of 139 Hawks, representing each of Huntingdon's 18 athletic programs, were among the 1,446 USA South student-athletes named to the team.
To be eligible, a student-athlete must have earned at least a 3.3 GPA during each semester of the school year. Members of sports not sponsored by the conference, including women's golf, beach volleyball and wrestling, are eligible for recognition.
This year, for the first time, the USA South is also recognizing student-athletes with a 3.9 GPA or higher in each semester as All-Academic with Distinction. A total of 35 Huntingdon student-athletes earned the honor.
Five of the conference members placed at least 100 student-athletes on the team. Huntingdon had the highest total in the conference, followed by Piedmont with 123 and North Carolina Wesleyan with 108.
