Lambert, LeBlanc and Bradley earn USA South Athlete of the Week honors

FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. – Three Huntingdon student-athletes were recognized by the USA South Athletic Conference as Athletes of the Week on Monday.

Quarterback Michael Lambert was named Offensive Player of the Week for football, sophomore Kelan LeBlanc was named Player of the Week for men's soccer and freshman Taylor Bradley was named Rookie of the Week for men's soccer.

Lambert was recognized for his part in the football team's 69-43 season-opening win against Guilford College. In the game, the senior completed 18-of-29 passes for 336 yards and six touchdowns. The six touchdown passes tied the program's single-game record.

Lambert completed two touchdown passes in the first 23 minutes of the game. During a span of 10 minutes from late in the second quarter to midway through the third quarter, Lambert threw three more touchdown strikes to help blow the game open. His sixth and final touchdown pass closed the scoring for the Hawks.

LeBlanc and Bradley were recognized for their performance in the men's soccer team's 4-2 win over Birmingham-Southern. The duo helped Huntingdon beat the Panthers for the first time during the NCAA era. This was the ninth meeting between the two teams as Division III programs since 2009.

LeBlanc scored two goals and had an assist in the game. He assisted on the first goal of the game and scored back-to-back goals in a span of less than 30 seconds early in the second half to make it a 3-1 game.

Bradley finished with one goal and one assist in the game. He assisted on LeBlanc's first goal and scored the Hawks' final goal in the 65th minute of the game.

Through three games this season, LeBlanc leads the Hawks and is tied for second in the USA South with four goals. With three assists apiece, LeBlanc and Bradley are tied for second in the conference in assists.
