Flavors named Special Teams Player of the Week

FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. – Huntingdon's Fred Flavors was recognized as one of the USA South Athletic Conference's Athletes of the Week on Monday.

The sophomore was named Special Teams Player of the Week for football for his performance in the Hawks' 48-7 win over Methodist.

Flavors set up an early touchdown with a key special teams play in the second quarter. On the Monarchs' third possession of the game, Huntingdon's defense forced a punt from the Methodist 32-yard line. Flavors broke through to block the punt and the ball was recovered at the Monarchs' 15-yard line.

Huntingdon scored on the next play to take a 14-0 lead.

Flavors also had four tackles in the game.
