Peppers earns second USA South Defensive Rookie of the Week honor

FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. – Freshman Casey Peppers earned his second Athlete of the Week recognition from the USA South Athletic Conference on Monday.

The linebacker was named football's Defensive Rookie of the Week for a second consecutive week. This is the third straight week a Huntingdon defensive player has earned recognition from the conference.

Peppers was recognized for his performance in a 23-7 loss to North Carolina Wesleyan. In the game, Peppers recorded a season-high 10 tackles and two tackles for loss. In the past two games, Peppers has totaled 17 tackles and three tackles for loss.

For the season, Peppers is the Hawks' fifth-leading tackler with 42 stops, leads the team in forced fumbles, is tied for first in fumble recoveries and is tied for third with five tackles for loss.
