BASEBALL

Baseball Player of the Week
Hunter Ward, William Peace - The junior infielder from Clayton, North Carolina went a combined 10-for-21 (.476) with a .500 on-base percentage, and an .857 slugging percentage to go along with five runs scored, eight RBI, three doubles, one triple, one home run, one walk, and three stolen bases as the Pacers posted a 3-2 record last week. The highlight of the week came against 14th-ranked Adrian as Ward hit for the cycle thanks to a 4-for-6 day which included three runs scored and four RBI. For good measure, Ward also grabbed a save on the mound in a 4-2 win over Brockport last week. Baseball Pitcher of the Week
David Asbill, Averett - The junior from Lewisville, North Carolina tossed seven and two-thirds shutout innings in his only appearance last week for the Cougars, getting the win over seventh-ranked Lynchburg. In the 1-0 victory, Asbill allowed just one hit and five walks while striking out a career-high eight batters. Also Nominated: Bryce Bollinger, Covenant; Drew Tubb, N.C. Baseball Rookie of the Week
Cale Oehler, Brevard - The freshman infielder from Charlotte, North Carolina went a combined 5-for-9 (.556) with a .714 on-base percentage, and a .778 slugging percentage to go along with one run scored, one run batted in, two doubles, and five walks as the Tornados posted a 2-1 record last week. In a 10-5 victory over Case Western Reserve, Oehler was 3-for-4 with one run scored, one run batted in, one double, and one walk. Baseball Rookie Pitcher of the Week
Noah Webb, Brevard - The freshman from Sylva, North Carolina earned a win in two relief appearances last week for the Tornados. Webb tossed a total of 5.2 shutout innings, allowing five hits and one walk with three strikeouts. His victory came over Case Western Reserve when pitched three shutout innings of relief, allowing three hits and one walk with one strikeout. Also Nominated: Gavin Colwell, Averett.

Softball Player of the Week
Lauren Conway, William Peace - The senior catcher from Winterville, North Carolina was a combined 5-for-7 (.714) with a .750 on-base percentage and a 1.000 slugging percentage to go along with three runs scored, two doubles, and one walk as the Pacers earned wins over Blackburn and DeSales last week. Softball Pitcher of the Week
Taylor Murdock, Covenant - The sophomore from Dacula, Georgia earned a win in her only appearance for the Scots last week, tossing a one-hit, six-inning, shutout against Emory. In the 10-0 victory, Murdock walked three batters and struck out four while helping her own cause with two RBI. Also Nominated: Sofia Salcido, N.C. Softball Rookie of the Week
Adanya Day, William Peace - The freshman infielder from Lexington Park, Maryland went a combined 3-for-5 (.600) with a .667 on-base percentage and a .600 slugging percentage to go along with three runs scored and one walk as the Pacers earned wins over Blackburn and DeSales last week. Also Nominated: Helena Nagy, Covenant; Molly Alejandrino, N.C. Softball Rookie Pitcher of the Week
Madison McIntosh, Berea - The freshman from Mount Vernon, Kentucky earned a win in two appearances last week for the Mountaineers. In 9.2 total innings pitched, McIntosh allowed two runs (only one of which was earned) on five hits with one walk, and 12 strikeouts. McIntosh's win came over Massachusetts College Of Liberal Arts as she tossed a five-inning no-hitter without allowing a walk and striking out eight batters. Also Nominated: Sofia Salcido, N.C. MEN'S LACROSSE

Men's Lacrosse Player of the Week
Quinn Becraft, Pfeiffer - The Huntersville, North Carolina sophomore attackman tallied six points on five goals and one assist in an 18-8 win over Marietta, the team's only action last week. Becraft also collected five ground balls and caused two turnovers in the victory. Also Nominated: Avery Jenks, Piedmont; Cy Horner, Methodist; Parker Corbett, Averett; Austin Abourjilie, Greensboro; Andrew McDonald, Brevard; Tennison Schmidt, Southern Virginia.

Men's Lacrosse Defensive Player of the Week
Marques Fleming, Averett - The Richmond, Virginia senior longstick midfielder collected 11 caused turnovers and ten ground balls in a 1-1 week for the Cougars. In an 11-5 win over Husson, Fleming grabbed six ground balls and caused four turnovers. In a 15-5 loss to Oglethorpe, Fleming caused seven turnovers and grabbed four ground balls. Men's Lacrosse Rookie of the Week
Aidan Story, LaGrange - The Steamboat Springs, Colorado freshman attackman set two program single-game records by compiling 11 points and eight assists in a 27-4 win over Warren Wilson, the team's only action last week. Story also added three goals in the victory. Also Nominated: Tyler Ajemian, Pfeiffer; Jadon Morini, Piedmont; Cy Horner, Methodist; Lachlan Sterling, Averett; Frankie Howard, Brevard.

 

WOMEN'S LACROSSE

Women's Lacrosse Player of the Week
Alissa Johnson, Southern Virginia - The Salt Lake City, Utah junior attacker totaled ten points on nine goals and one assist, to go along with 14 draw controls, seven ground balls, and three caused turnovers last week as the Knights posted a 1-1 record. In a 16-8 victory over USA South foe Methodist, Johnson totaled nine points on eight goals and one assist with 11 draw controls, four ground balls, and two caused turnovers. In a 14-1 loss to Kenyon, Johnson scored the team's lone goal while also totaling three ground balls, three draw controls, and one caused turnover. Also Nominated: Arrianna May, Meredith; Lindley Ward, Piedmont; Shelby Blair, Huntingdon; Elizabeth Peasley, Averett; Madison Bradley, William Peace; Parker Moore, Brevard.

Women's Lacrosse Defensive Player of the Week
Adriana Perez, Averett - The Woodbridge, Virginia senior midfielder totaled a game-high five caused turnovers in a 12-7 win over USA South foe Piedmont, the team's only contest of last week. Perez also added five ground balls, three draw controls, and two goals in the victory. Also Nominated: Kellianne Schlosser, Piedmont; Reagan Bullock, Huntingdon; Lexi Maclauchlin, Brevard.

Women's Lacrosse Rookie of the Week
Michaela Haas, Huntingdon - The Tampa, Florida freshman attacker totaled six points on two goals and four assists, to go along with two ground balls as the Hawks defeated USA South foe Pfeiffer, 13-3 in the team's only contest last week. Also Nominated: Olivia Verlinden, Meredith; Merryn Bumpass, Piedmont; Faith Bowlin, Averett; Emily Denaga, Brevard.

 

MEN'S TENNIS

Men's Tennis Player of the Week
Roberto Puig, N.C. Wesleyan - The senior from Malaga, Spain earned a 2-0 singles and doubles records last week for the Battling Bishops. Puig earned singles wins over opponents from Haverford at the fourth position and Division I Creighton at the third position. In doubles, at second position, Puig teamed with John Falke to defeat Division I Creighton and with Diego Segovia to defeat John Carroll. Also Nominated: Gill Dunn, Covenant; Dylan Masters, Pfeiffer.

Men's Tennis Rookie of the Week
Luca Knese, N.C. Wesleyan - The freshman from Koln, Germany earned a 2-0 singles record last week for the Battling Bishops. Knese earned wins over opponents from John Carroll at the second position and Division I Creighton at the sixth position. Also Nominated: Martinho Goncalves, Averett.

Men's Doubles Team of the Week
John Falke and Roberto Puig, N.C. Wesleyan - The Battling Bishop duo earned a 2-0 record at the number-two doubles position last week. The wins came over opponents from Haverford and Division I Creighton. Also Nominated: Solomon Crouch and Austin Dreslinski, Covenant; Dylan Masters and Benedikt Pfeiffer, Pfeiffer. 

 

WOMEN'S TENNIS

Women's Tennis Player of the Week
Abby Caddick, Methodist - The senior from Warrington, Pennsylvania earned 2-0 records at both the top singles and doubles spots last week for the Monarchs. In both singles and doubles, Caddick earned wins over opponents from Roanoke and Gordon, teaming with Kamdyn Balko for the doubles victories. Also Nominated: Kristal Dule, N.C. Wesleyan; Gillian Bosko, Covenant; Hamrick Perry, Brevard.

Women's Tennis Rookie of the Week
Kristal Dule, N.C. Wesleyan - The freshman from Ponte, Italy earned 3-1 records at both the top singles and doubles spots last week for the Battling Bishops. In both singles and doubles, Dule earned wins over opponents from Haverford, John Carroll, and Division II Winona State with a losses to Division I Creighton. In doubles, Dule teamed with Elisa Mariotti for the four matches. Also Nominated: Lauren Carr, Covenant; Alison Sloop, Pfeiffer; Maxence Lippens, Averett; Veva Willocks, Methodist; Hannah Hersh, Brevard.

Women's Doubles Team of the Week
Kristal Dule and Elisa Mariotti, N.C. Wesleyan - The Battling Bishop duo earned a 3-1 record at the number-one doubles position last week. The wins came over opponents from Haverford, John Carroll, and Division II Winona State with a loss to Division I Creighton. Also Nominated: Gillian Bosko and Madelyn Savage, Covenant; Hannah Higgins and Alex Pratt, Methodist; Hamrick Perry and Sophie Trantham, Brevard.
