Jasmine Paynter, Emma Cox Earn USA South Golf Awards

2022 USA South Women's Golf Awards Announced

The USA South Athletic Conference has announced its 2022 All-Conference awards for women's golf. Methodist University swept all of the individual honors as Jillian Drinkard was named Player of the Year, Emily Gresham earned Rookie of the Year while their coach, Tom Inczauskis, collected Coach of the Year accolades. Also, the USA South recognized an All-Sportsmanship Team, consisting of one member from each competing school. All awards are voted on by the women's golf coach at each institution.

Drinkard, a senior from Appomattox, Virginia claims her second consecutive USA South Player of the Year honor. She is currently the second-ranked player in Division III according to Golfstat, averaging a USA South-best 71.9 in 15 rounds of play. Drinkard has recorded ten rounds of par or better, won two events, and finished in the top-five in six of the seven events entered during the regular season. For her efforts, Drinkard earned First Team All-Conference honors for the second consecutive season and was named USA South Golfer of the Week four times.

Gresham, a freshman from Binghamton, New York leads all rookies with a current average score of 76.3 in 15 rounds of play which is good for fifth-best in the League. She has compiled two top-ten finishes and four top-20 results in seven events with a low round of 70. Gresham is currently the 55th-ranked player in Division III according to Golfstat. For her efforts, Gresham earned First Team All-Conference honors this year while also collecting USA South Rookie Golfer of the Week three times.

Inczauskis, in his 13th year at the helm of Methodist, has guided his team to a Conference-best 296.7 stroke average in 15 rounds this season. The Monarchs have won two of the seven tournaments entered this year, finishing no worse than fourth in each event. Methodist, the defending Division III National Champions, is currently the fourth-ranked team in the nation according to Golfstat and enter the upcoming USA South Women's Golf Tournament as the top-seeded team.
