Bio

Tommy Bracknell is in his third season with the Huntingdon men's basketball program. He serves as the assistant men's varsity coach and the head junior varsity coach.

Before joining the Huntingdon staff, Bracknell compiled a 103-43 record and two state championships in six seasons as a high school head coach. He led Autauga Academy to a 44-6 record and two AISA Class A state titles in two seasons before spending the last four seasons at Edgewood Academy. At Edgewood, Bracknell guided the Wildcats to a 59-37 record and two AISA Final Four appearances.

Prior to becoming a head coach, Bracknell spent eight seasons as an assistant coach at Edgewood and was part of a program that won 142 games, won one AISA state championship and finished as the state runner-up twice.

In addition to his coaching duties, Bracknell served as a physical education teacher and facilities manager during his final season at Edgewood. For much of the previous decade, in addition to coaching, he worked in private business.

Bracknell earned a scholarship to Troy University before an injury cut short his playing career. He graduated from Troy with a B.S. in business administration.

He is married to the former Gaye Ziegler.
