Bio

Kathleen Thompson joins the Huntingdon staff as head women's tennis coach.

From the years of 2000-2012 and a stint in 2022, Thompson served as the Head Tennis Coach At CACC, where she served as the ITA Regional and National Rankings Chair and was elected as the Vice President of the NJCAA Women' Tennis Coaches Association. Thompson was named to the NJCAA Women's Tennis Hall of Fame in 2012 and earned Coach of the Year honors nine times throughout her career.

A graduate of Nazareth College of Rochester, a division III institution, Thompson holds a Bachelors of Arts degree in Mathematics. She received her Master's of Education in Secondary Mathematics Education from Auburn University.

As a DIII Student-Athlete at Nazareth, Thompson was named an ITA Scholar-Athletic All-American while also being ranked as high as 19th in the nation in singles and 3rd in doubles.

Prior to coming to Huntingdon, Thompson served most recently as a mathematics instructor and faculty advisor at Central Alabama Community College.

"I am so excited for the opportunity to take over the Women's Tennis program here at Huntingdon", shared Thompson. "Huntingdon Tennis has a long history of excellence, and I am looking forward to continuing that. I have met all of the ladies on the team and am very pleased with our prospects for this year. I want to thank Coach Franklin and Director Levanda for this wonderful opportunity."
