Mike Johnson joined the Huntingdon coaching staff in 2016 as the defensive backs coach.

The unit accounted for seven interceptions and 23 passes broken up and helped hold two opponents to no touchdown passes and five opponents to one touchdown pass or less. Four opponents were held to less than 150 yards passing.

Three of Johnson defensive backs earned All-Conference honors in 2016, one was named Academic All-Conference and one was named to the National Football Foundation's Hampshire Honor Society.

Johnson spent the 2015 season as an assistant coach at Malone University. At Malone, Johnson coached cornerbacks and was responsible for recruiting the Toledo, Ohio area and the East Coast region.

Johnson was a four-year starter at cornerback for Bryant University and earned a bachelor's degree in communications in Dec. 2014. As a senior, he started in all 11 games and tied the program record with 11 passes broken up.

Johnson is the son of Michael Johnson and Tamra McClure. He has one brother, Xander, and two sisters, Tyatianna and Celina.
