Stewart Lowery returned to Huntingdon College as assistant strength and conditioning coach in 2020.

In his role, Lowery assists Director of Strength and Conditioning Charlie Goodyear with the Hawks’ 18 athletic programs. Lowery previously worked with Goodyear and the Hawks on both a full-time and voluntary basis.

Lowery is a USAW Level I Sports Performance Coach with a bachelor's degree in criminal justice from Troy State University and a bachelor's degree in physical education from Auburn University-Montgomery.

Before returning to Huntingdon, he spent 2019 as an intern for The Ohio State University Strength and Conditioning program. He assisted with the football program, as well as wrestling, men's soccer, fencing and men's and women's swimming.

From 2016-2018, Lowery served as a volunteer assistant and then a full-time assistant to Goodyear. As part of his responsibilities, he managed workouts for Huntingdon's softball, men's and women's golf, women's lacrosse, women's tennis and cross country programs. He also assisted with football, baseball, men's and women's soccer, men's and women's basketball, volleyball and beach volleyball.

Lowery also served as an intern at Alabama State University, where he assisted with weight and conditioning sessions for football.

Before working at the collegiate level, Lowery worked at the high school level. Locally, he was an assistant football coach for Marbury High School. Prior to Marbury, Lowery coached in Florida at Durant High School and Robinson High School.

At Durant, Lowery was the assistant head coach and defensive coordinator for the football team and assisted with the strength and conditioning program. As a volunteer assistant at Robinson, he coached linebackers and was the coordinator for special teams.

Before entering into the coaching ranks, Lowery spent almost 15 years in law enforcement with the Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office in Florida.

As a player, Lowery began as a walk-on at Troy State University. From there he became a four-year letterman, three-year starter at linebacker and was elected by his teammates as Defensive Captain of the Trojans' 1984 Division II national championship team.
