Bio

Charlie Osten joined the Huntingdon staff as an assistant men’s tennis coach in 2011 and became head coach in 2015.

Osten has been a part of 66 wins, one conference championship and five conference tournament appearances with the Hawks. In three seasons as head coach, Osten’s teams have an overall record of 28-26, a conference record of 16-11 and have reached the USA South Athletic Conference Tournament each season.

In Osten’s first season as head coach, the Hawks posted a 12-6 overall record and a 7-2 conference record. The Hawks advanced to the USA South Tournament semifinals before falling to conference runner-up Methodist.

The 2016 team won six of its first eight matches, finished with a 9-6 record and reached the first round of the USA South Tournament.  In 2017, the Hawks were 7-14 and reached USA South Tournament for the fourth time in four seasons in the conference.

Before becoming head coach, Osten spent three seasons as an assistant coach with the Hawks. As an assistant, Osten was part of three teams that combined for a 38-15 record. In his first season as an assistant coach, the Hawks won the Great South Athletic Conference Tournament championship in their final year in the conference.

As a head coach and assistant coach in the USA South and the GSAC, Osten has helped produce a conference Freshman of the Year (GSAC), nine All-Conference performers and 23 Academic All-Conference selections.
