Hawks Split Matches On Day One Of Spartanburg Tournament

SPARTANBURG, SOUTH CAROLINA-  Huntingdon beach volleyball (3-12 overall) traveled to Spartanburg to compete in the Spartanburg Methodist Tournament. The Hawks opened up the day with a 5-0 loss to Palm Beach State, but rebounded to win their second match 4-1 over Spartanburg Methodist. See below for the pairing matches results.

 

Match one

  • Veronica Tikhimorova and Izzy Valldeperas were defeated by Zuzanna Michalska and Ana Paula Fallas Cruz in three sets, winning the first 21-18 but losing the next two 21-16 and 15-6

  • Ashlen Janowski and Ariel Helmick were defeated by Marilyn Cesaro and Aleksandra Hamuda in 21-16 and 21-17

  • Lindsey Holland and Caroline Foote were defeated by Salome Galvez and Isabel Schattauer in three sets, winning the first 25-23 and losing the next two 21-8 and 15-10

  • Bea Lindquist and Eva Ellenburg were defeated by Giovana Bock and Patrycja Kabala in three sets, winning the first 21-17 and losing the next two 21-15 and 15-11

  • Destin Roberts and Lydia Hitchcock were defeated by Ava Bowman and Kayla Fray 21-13 and 21-14

 

Match two

 

The Hawks return to action in Spartanburg on March 10th against Richard Bland and Wake Tech. Matches are set for 12:00 and 2:00 PM CT.
