Weather plays havoc with weekend schedule

MONTGOMERY, Ala. –Schedules have changed for several Huntingdon sports due to Friday's weather and the forecast for Saturday.

Baseball, softball, men's tennis and women's tennis have all faced postponements and cancellations.

Below are the changes and the available updated schedules.

Baseball: The Hawks were originally scheduled to play one game on Friday, Saturday and Sunday and serve as a neutral-site location for one other game each day involving Millsaps, Franklin College and Capital University.

The revised schedule has not been finalized and will be released Saturday morning.

Softball: The Lady Hawks were scheduled to play four games in the Methodist Tournament this weekend.

The softball team is no longer playing in the tournament and will play at Berry College in a doubleheader beginning at noon on Sunday.

Men's Tennis: The Hawks were able to play one of two scheduled matches on the road Friday and hope to play Saturday's scheduled matches on the road with Tougaloo and Millsaps.

The Hawks hope to make up Friday's match with Rust at a later date.

Women's Tennis: The Lady Hawks postponed four matches originally scheduled for this weekend. It is not known at this time when the matches with Clark Atlanta and Methodist and two conference matches with Salem will be made up.

Huntingdon's other scheduled home events this weekend have not changed.

Women's Basketball: The Lady Hawks hosted the first day of the Great South Athletic Conference with three quarterfinal games on Friday and will host the semifinals on Saturday and the GSAC championship on Sunday.

Huntingdon plays Spelman in the semifinals at 3 p.m. Saturday. Salem and Agnes Scott play in the other semifinal at 1 p.m. The winners will play for the GSAC title and a berth in the NCAA tournament on Sunday at 1 p.m.

Men's Basketball: The Hawks close out the season by hosting Bob Jones for Senior Day at 5 p.m. on Saturday.

Women's Lacrosse: The first-year program debuts against the University of Dallas at 11 a.m. on Saturday.

Men's Lacrosse: The Hawks return to Samford Stadium on Saturday after a three-game road trip and host Ferrum at 2 p.m.
