MONTGOMERY, Ala. – Huntingdon catcher Joseph Odom and pitcher Cory Belyeu were both named All-Region by D3baseball.com on Monday.

Odom was a first-team All-South selection and Belyeu was a third-team All-South selection.

"Odom and Belyeu are both deserving of this recognition," Huntingdon head coach D.J. Conville said. "They've worked hard to achieve what they have and this is a great reflection of the season each of them had. It's a great personal accomplishment and it's also good recognition for our program."

As a junior, Odom was dominant at the plate and led Huntingdon with a .369 batting average, 14 home runs, 60 RBIs, 10 doubles and a .706 slugging percentage. He was second on the team with 59 hits and 45 runs.

Entering last week's South Regional, Odom led all of Division III in home runs, was tied for sixth in RBIs and was 13th in slugging percentage.

Belyeu was unbeaten on the mound as a senior, finishing 6-0 in 14 appearances. He struck out 39, walked 23 and allowed 23 earned runs in 66 innings to finish with a 3.14 ERA.

Belyeu earned wins against two-time defending national champion Marietta, 2010 national champion Illinois Wesleyan, Emory, Muskingum, Oglethorpe and Berry. He recorded a season-high seven strikeouts in a start against LaGrange and threw a two-hit, shutout against Berry.

The Hawks could receive more All-Region recognition in the coming weeks when the American Baseball Coaches Association releases its All-Region teams.
