MONTGOMERY, Ala. – The Huntingdon baseball team gave up four runs in the first inning and three runs in the final three innings of a 7-3 loss to Maryville on Sunday.
The loss was the second straight for the Hawks (4-2, 4-2 USA South) and capped Huntingdon's first series loss of the season. After taking Game 1 against Maryville 9-1 on Friday, Huntingdon lost the second game 5-2 on Saturday.
Left fielder Alec Raley and right fielder Anthony Spivey accounted for all of Huntingdon's hits on Sunday. Raley was 2-for-3 with a RBI and a run and Spivey was 2-for-4 with two RBIs. Center fielder Patrick Kucera and third baseman Jordan Freeman each scored a run.
Starter Scott Robertson (0-1) took the loss.
Huntingdon returns to action at LaGrange on Friday at 6 p.m.
