MONTGOMERY, Ala. – The Huntingdon baseball team fell behind by six runs in the first two innings and lost to 22nd-ranked Emory University 13-2 on Friday.
Huntingdon (17-13) scored one run in the second inning and one run in the third inning. Designated hitter Anthony Spivey hit a solo home run, his fourth homer of the season, to lead off the bottom of the second.
Center fielder Patrick Kucera drove in shortstop Landon Sessions with a single in the third inning. Second baseman Mason Throneberry had two hits and was the only Hawk with multiple hits.
Jackson Cruce (5-3) took the loss.
Huntingdon will play a doubleheader at Emory (17-10) on Saturday. Game 1 is set for noon.
