MONTGOMERY, Ala. – The Huntingdon baseball team lost to LaGrange College 9-0 on Friday night in Game 1 of a three-game USA South Athletic Conference series.
The Hawks (10-8, 2-2 USA South) gave up one run in the first inning and three runs in the fourth inning before LaGrange (11-9, 3-4 USAS) scored five runs in the final three innings.
Mason Throneberry accounted for two of Huntingdon's four hits.
Zack Watson (3-2) took the loss. Watson struck out 10, walked one, gave up six hits and allowed three earned runs in six innings.
The Hawks and Panthers are scheduled to play Game 2 of the series on Saturday at 3 p.m.
