FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. – The Huntingdon baseball team came up short in a 4-0 loss to Methodist on Sunday in Game 3 of a three-game conference series.
With the loss, Huntingdon (19-16, 8-9 USA South) will enter the USA South Athletic Conference Tournament as the No. 7 seed. Huntingdon will play second-seeded LaGrange in the first round of the tournament on Thursday at 3:30 p.m. Central.
In Sunday's loss, Methodist (19-14, 10-8 USA South) scored two runs in the first inning and added one run in the third inning and one run in the fourth.
Alec Raley had two hits for the Hawks. Jordan Criswell, Mason Throneberry and Josh Hines accounted for Huntingdon's other three hits.
Jared Gonzalez (4-4) took the loss in five innings.
