Huntingdon opens season with loss to Millsaps

MONTGOMERY, Ala. – The Huntingdon baseball team opened the season with an 8-0 loss to Millsaps on Friday night.

The Hawks (0-1) gave up three runs in the second inning and four runs in the fifth inning. All but two of the runs were unearned. The Majors (1-0) scored their final run in the ninth inning.

Zach McGrady took the loss in five innings, giving up six hits, striking out one, walking three and allowing two earned runs.

Joseph Calvert was the only Hawk with multiple hits, finishing with two of Huntingdon's five hits.

Huntingdon and Millsaps will wrap up their series with a doubleheader on Saturday at Posey Field. Game 1 is set for 1 p.m.
