Hawks fall to Rhodes on final day of Firehouse Classic

MONTGOMERY, Ala. – The Huntingdon baseball team fell to Rhodes College 5-1 on Sunday on the final day of the Firehouse Classic.
Huntingdon (1-4) gave up four runs in the sixth inning and one in the eighth before Will Cosby scored the Hawks' lone run on a Taylor Fought double in the ninth inning.
Starter Matt Gatewood (1-1) took the loss in 5 2/3 innings. Gatewood struck out seven, walked two, gave up two hits and allowed two earned runs.
Huntingdon returns to action on Friday and Saturday in Texas. The Hawks open the series with Southwestern on Friday at 6 p.m.
