GREENSBORO, N.C. – The Huntingdon baseball team lost to Greensboro College 9-5 on Sunday in the final game of a three-game USA South Athletic Conference series.
The Hawks won the first two games of the series 5-2 and 17-3.
In Sunday's loss, Huntingdon (4-11, 2-1 USA South) carried a 4-4 tie into the sixth inning. But Greensboro (9-6, 1-2 USA South) answered with two runs in the sixth and three runs in the eighth.
Josh Hines led Huntingdon with two RBIs, including an RBI double, on a 2-for-4 day and was the only Hawk with multiple hits. Garrett Breland had an RBI and a run and Hunter Long, Taylor Fought, Wes Powell and Michael Rodda each scored one run.
Reliever C.J. Sauce (1-1) took the loss.
Huntingdon hosts third-ranked Birmingham-Southern on Tuesday at 6 p.m.
