Huntingdon takes Game 2 of USA South series from LaGrange

MONTGOMERY, Ala. – The Huntingdon baseball team scored six runs in the middle innings to beat LaGrange 6-3 on Saturday in the second game of a three-game USA South Athletic Conference series.

Huntingdon won the first game of the series 9-2 on Friday night.

Trailing 2-0 in the bottom of the third inning, Huntingdon tied the game on a two-run triple by Joseph Calvert and took the lead when Calvert scored on an RBI single by Dakota Beane.

In the bottom of the sixth inning, tied 3-3, Calvert and Beane scored to make it 5-3 before Garrett Breland singled to drive in Wes Powell for the final run.

Calvert finished with two hits, two RBIs and two runs, Breland had two hits and an RBI, Powell had two hits and a run and Garrett Headley had two hits and an RBI. Beane finished with an RBI and a run and Bradley Harris and Jud Owens each scored one run.

Jared McFall (1-0) earned the win in relief. McFall struck out one, walked two and held LaGrange to one hit in the final 3 1/3 innings.
