MONTGOMERY, Ala. – Huntingdon pitchers Carden Mellown and John Crawford took advantage of their opportunities this summer. The rising Huntingdon seniors spent the past two months playing baseball in a pair of summer collegiate leagues. Mellown is pitching for the Charlottesville Tom Sox in the Valley League and Crawford pitched for the Valley Center Mud Daubers in the Kansas Collegiate League Baseball.

TULSA, Okla. – Former Huntingdon All-American Joseph Odom is looking forward to his first minor league All-Star Game. Odom is one of eight Arkansas Travelers and one of two catchers on the North roster for the Texas League All-Star Game. The Double-A All-Star Game will be played on Tuesday at 7:05 p.m. (Central) at ONEOK Field in Tulsa.

The student-athletes, representing each of Huntingdon's 18 athletic programs, were among the 1,441 USA South student-athletes named to the team.

LAGRANGE, Ga. – The Huntingdon baseball team’s run in the conference tournament ended with a loss to Greensboro. After knocking off the No. 1 and No. 2 seeds on Friday, the Hawks came up short in a 15-4 loss to the Pride on Saturday.

Huntingdon keeps battling with two wins in USA South Tournament

LAGRANGE, Ga. – The Huntingdon baseball team won two elimination games on Friday on the second day of the USA South Conference Tournament. The fourth-seeded Hawks eliminated top-seeded Piedmont 6-3 in their first game of the day and closed the day with a late 8-7 win over second-seeded Methodist in 10-innings.

FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. – Three Huntingdon players were recognized with the release of the USA South All-Conference baseball awards on Wednesday. Freshman Tucker Duke was named Rookie Pitcher of the Year, junior shortstop Wes Powell was named first-team All-Conference and junior pitcher Wallace Henry was named second-team All-Conference. Senior Garrett Breland was named to the All-Sportsmanship Team.

FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. – Huntingdon baseball player Tucker Duke was chosen as one of the USA South Athletes of the Week on Monday.                                                            The freshman was named the Rookie Pitcher of the Week. This is the second time this season the Pulaski, Tenn., native has earned the recognition and the seventh time this spring a Huntingdon pitcher has been recognized as Pitcher of the Week or Rookie Pitcher of the Week.

Hawks fall to 14th-ranked Piedmont in first two games of series

April 19, 2019

MONTGOMERY, Ala. – The Huntingdon baseball team lost the first two games of a three-game conference series with 14th-ranked Piedmont on Friday. The two teams opened the series on Thursday night and played through the top of the seventh inning before weather postponed the game. After the final 2 ½ innings were played on Friday, Piedmont picked up a 10-3 victory. Huntingdon lost the second game 8-3.

MONTGOMERY, Ala. – The Huntingdon baseball team trailed 14th-ranked Piedmont 10-2 in the seventh inning on Thursday night when weather halted the game.
