No. 17 Huntingdon rallies late but comes up short against Emory

ATLANTA  – The 17th-ranked Huntingdon baseball team rallied late to tie the game but lost to Emory 6-5 in the bottom of the ninth inning on Sunday.

The Hawks trailed 5-3 after eight innings but tied the game on a two-run double by Will Cosby in the top of the ninth inning. Emory took advantage of two Huntingdon errors in the bottom of the ninth and scored an unearned run on a single to end the game.

Cosby finished the game 4-for-5 with two RBIs and a run and Wes Powell and Garrett Breland each had two hits and scored one run. Bradley Harris had an RBI and a run, Chris Fisher and Nick Swisher each had one RBI and Danny Coleman Jr. scored one run.

John Crawford (0-1) took the loss in 1 2/3 innings of relief.

Coming Up: Huntingdon will host Millsaps in a doubleheader on Tuesday. Game 1 is set for 3 p.m.
