2010: Started in six varsity games during his sophomore campaign, missing three games due to injury … posted 28 total tackles in seven games, including 12 solo stops on the defensive line … led the Hawks with five sacks for a loss of 20 yards … registered two sacks in a game on two occassions -- first against Faulkner on Sept. 18 and again on Oct. 23 against Webber International … recorded season-best six tackles against Birmingham-Southern on Sept. 25… also forced a fumble inside Webber International's  redzone setting up a touchdown in the 35-23 win over the Warriors.

2009: Played in ten varsity games, making ten total tackles, including eight for a loss as a freshman.

Prep: Was a three-year letterwinner in football, while also lettering in track and field and wrestling at Jeff Davis High School … was a state qualifier in the discus as a senior … finished fourth in the state in wrestling in his lone season of competition.

Personal: Full name is Dennis Lee Chappell … is the son of Dennis Barnett and Josephine Chappell … has two older brothers, Baron and Noah, and a younger brother, Josephif … is majoring in Physical Education.
