2010: Appeared in the 42-10 win over cross-town rival Faulkner and also competed in two of the Hawks' junior varsity games as a sophomore.

2009: Participated in one of the Hawks' junior varsity contests as a freshman.

Prep: Was a six-year letterwinner in football at Sylvania High School in Sylvania, Ala.  … earned all-area , all-region and all-county honors following his final season … was nominated for the Wendy's High School Heisman award … earned the Rams' Team Leadership award as a senior.
