Huntingdon’s Hooper named NSCA All-American Athlete of the Year

MONTGOMERY, Ala. – Huntingdon defensive back Dakota Hooper was recently recognized with the release of the National Strength and Conditioning Association's All-American Strength and Conditioning Athlete of the Year awards.

The award recognizes student-athletes who are dedicated to strength training and conditioning. This is the 34th year the NSCA has presented the All-American Athlete of the Year awards.

"Dakota is a solid young man, whom I count on to set the tone in our training sessions on a daily basis," Huntingdon Director of Strength and Conditioning Charlie Goodyear said. "His work ethic is unrivaled and he consistently provides the attitude, enthusiasm and leadership we desire for our program. Dakota's dedication has absolutely impacted his physical development and allowed him to become an integral piece to the success of our football program."

Hooper is one of 229 collegiate and high school athletes from 98 schools to be recognized this year.

"The advantages of strength training and conditioning cannot be denied in collegiate and high school athletics," NSCA founder Boyd Epley said. "The NSCA is pleased to recognize student-athletes that put forth an effort to improve their performance through strength and conditioning. They are to be applauded for their hard work and dedication."
