IRVING, Texas – Five Huntingdon football players were named to the National Football Foundation & College Hall of Fame's Hampshire Honor Society on Wednesday. The Hawks' 2015 selections are defensive lineman Derick Bothwell, receiver Brantley Carr, defensive lineman Michael Hill, kicker Jimbo Turk and offensive lineman Ryan Williams.

This week is NCAA Division III Week and member institutions across the country are celebrating the fourth-year event. Division III Week, which runs from Monday through Sunday, is intended to recognize the academic and athletic accomplishments as well as the campus leadership and community service efforts of Division III student-athletes. As part of Huntingdon College’s participation in Division III Week, six student-athletes will be featured this week. Huntingdon senior Brantley Carr is today's featured athlete.

MINNEAPOLIS – Huntingdon seniors Jeremy Murphy and Zach Brownell were both recognized by D3football.com with the release of its All-American teams on Friday night. Murphy, a cornerback for the Hawks, earned second-team All-American honors as a special teams player. Brownell was named honorable mention All-American at linebacker.

MINNEAPOLIS – Three Huntingdon football players were named All-South Region with the release of the 10th annual D3football.com All-Region teams on Monday. Senior Zach Brownell was named first-team All-Region linebacker and senior Jeremy Murphy was selected as a first-team special teams player and second-team cornerback. Junior offensive lineman Chael Pridgen earned third-team honors at guard.

FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. – Huntingdon linebacker Zach Brownell closed out his senior season with recognition as one of the USA South Athletes of the Week. Brownell was recognized as the Football Defensive Player of the Week for his efforts in a 37-20 win over North Carolina Wesleyan. In his final four collegiate games, the Prattville native was recognized as the conference Defensive Player of the Week three times. He was also named Defensive Player of the Week for his performance against Ferrum and Averett.

ROCKY MOUNT, N.C. – The Huntingdon football team closed out its season with a 37-20 win over North Carolina Wesleyan on Saturday. The Hawks (7-3, 6-2 USA South) led 20-14 at the half and pulled away from the Battling Bishops (5-5, 4-4 USA South) in the second half.

FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. – Huntingdon linebacker Zach Brownell was named a USA South Athlete of the Week on Monday. The senior was named the Football Defensive Player of the Week for his performance in a 42-6 win over Averett on Saturday. This is the second time the Prattville native has been recognized by the conference in the past three weeks. Brownell was also named conference Defensive Player of the Week for his performance against Ferrum.

MONTGOMERY, Ala. – The Huntingdon football team celebrated Senior Day with a 42-6 win over Averett on Saturday in the final home game of the season.
