Huntingdon's Acrobatic TD Wins USA South Football Play of the Year

FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. - The USA South Athletic Conference continued its "Football Play of the Week" initiative during the 2014 season for the second year. For each of the 11 weeks during the regular season, dynamic plays were submitted by the coaching staffs of each institution.

The winners were chosen by fan voting and featured on both the USA South website and its social networking sites (Twitter and YouTube). Each weekly winner was nominated for USA South Football Play of the Year.

With 63% of the vote, Week #6 Winner, Huntingdon running a reverse flea-flicker pass and Brantley Carr twisting around to catch it for a touchdown in a 51-31 victory over USA South foe Christopher Newport earns USA South Football Play of the Year for the 2014 season. The play also drew national attention as D3Football.com named it their National Division III Play of the Week.

Two other Huntingdon plays finished in the top four for Play of the Year. Jay Ware's 98-yard touchdown run against Birmingham-Southern was second and John Iwaniec's touchdown run against Methodist was fourth.
