FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. – A total of 119 Huntingdon College student-athletes were recognized with the release of the USA South Academic All-Conference team on Friday. The student-athletes, representing each of Huntingdon's 18 athletic programs, were among the 1,441 USA South student-athletes named to the team.

MINNEAPOLIS – Three Huntingdon players earned All-South Region recognition with the release of the D3football.com All-Region teams on Tuesday. Senior linebacker Trey Hayes and senior kicker Chase Young were each named second-team All-Region and senior offensive guard Chris Hering earned third-team All-Region honors.

FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. – Seven Huntingdon Hawks earned All-Conference honors with the release of the USA South All-Conference football awards on Tuesday. Offensive lineman Chris Hering, running back Eric Thomas, linebacker Trey Hayes and kicker Chase Young were named first-team All-Conference and quarterback Michael Lambert, offensive lineman Adam Mann and defensive back Jarrett White were named second-team All-Conference. Thomas was also named second-team All-Conference as a return specialist.

FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. – Huntingdon football player Eric Thomas closed the season with a dominant performance against LaGrange and was recognized on Monday as one of the USA South Athletic Conference Athletes of the Week. The sophomore running back was named Offensive Player of the Week for his efforts in Huntingdon’s 42-14 win against the Panthers. This is the second time Thomas has been named Offensive Player of the Week this fall.

Huntingdon closes season with three-game winning streak

MONTGOMERY, Ala.  – The Huntingdon football team celebrated Senior Day with a 42-14 win over LaGrange College on Saturday to close the season with a three-game winning streak. The Hawks jumped out to a 21-0 lead in the first 11 minutes of the game and put the game away with two touchdowns in the third quarter and one touchdown early in the fourth quarter.

FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. – Huntingdon senior kicker Chase Young was named one of the USA South Athletic Conference Athletes of the Week on Monday. Young was named the Special Teams Player of the Week for his performance in a 50-29 win over North Carolina Wesleyan.

Hawks knock off Battling Bishops for second straight win

ROCKY MOUNT, N.C. – The Huntingdon football team earned its second straight win with a 50-29 victory over North Carolina Wesleyan on Saturday. The Hawks took a 21-3 lead in the first quarter and handed the Battling Bishops their second conference loss of the season.

FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. – Huntingdon football player Ahmaud Taylor was named one of the USA South Athletic Conference Athletes of the Week on Monday. Taylor was named the Defensive Rookie of the Week for his performance in a 45-0 win over Greensboro.

Huntingdon celebrates Homecoming with football’s 100th win

MONTGOMERY, Ala. – The Huntingdon football team scored 35 points in the first 13 minutes of the game and celebrated Homecoming with a 45-0 win over Greensboro College on Saturday. The win was the 100th in the history of the Huntingdon football program. In their 16th season of competition, the Hawks have an all-time record of 100-54. Head coach Mike Turk, who took over the program after its first season in 2003, has guided Huntingdon to a 100-47 record.

MONTGOMERY, Ala. – Huntingdon College will induct six new members into its Athletic Hall of Fame this weekend. The ceremony will be held in Ligon Chapel at 10 a.m. on Saturday. The six inductees represent four sports and two different decades of Huntingdon athletics. This year’s inductees are Keith Anthony (football, Class of 2013), Alyssa Eason (volleyball, Class of 2012), Bobby Eskew (baseball, Class of 1969), Mike Jones, Aleah Payne (softball, Class of 2012) and Abby Carter Stanton (volleyball, Class of 2012).
