MONTGOMERY, Ala. – The Huntingdon men's basketball team built a double-digit lead in the second half Tuesday night but couldn't hold off Auburn University-Montgomery in an 80-74 loss.
An Alex Layson 3-pointer put Huntingdon (1-8) in front 63-50 with 9:12 to play in the game. But the NAIA Warhawks (4-8) rallied in the final nine minutes, outscoring Huntingdon 30-11.
Austin Hill led Huntingdon with 21 points and 14 rebounds. T.C. Elmore added 17 points, Layson followed with 11 points and Terry Moorer finished with 10 points and 12 rebounds.
Huntingdon returns to Roland Arena on January 14 against Concordia at 7 p.m.
