Men’s basketball can’t keep pace with AUM

MONTGOMERY, Ala. – The Huntingdon men's basketball team hung with Auburn-Montgomery for a half on Friday night but lost 88-65.

Huntingdon (0-5) trailed 42-39 at the half, but the Hawks couldn't keep pace with AUM (5-5) in the second half. AUM used a 12-1 run to take a 14-point lead in the first four minutes of the second half.

Huntingdon rallied to within four points, 57-53, midway through the second half but AUM quickly pulled back to a double-digit lead. AUM outscored Huntingdon 31-12 in the final 10:16 of the game.

Alex Layson and Dantavius Washington each scored 13 points to lead Huntingdon and Andre Ashley added 11 points, 13 rebounds and four steals. Washington had eight rebounds and Jerome Davis finished with six assists and six rebounds.

Huntingdon hosts Sewanee on Saturday at 2 p.m.
