Men’s basketball closes season with loss at N.C. Wesleyan

ROCKY MOUNT, N.C. – The Huntingdon men's basketball team wrapped up its season on Sunday with a 94-76 loss to USA South Athletic Conference opponent N.C. Wesleyan.

The Hawks (2-23, 0-14 USA South) got off to a slow start and were unable to comeback from a 17 point deficit at halftime.

The Battling Bishops (13-12, 6-8 USA South) jumped out to a 21-6 lead in less than seven minutes into the opening half. N.C. Wesleyan was able to maintain the lead for the remainder of the half and led 47-30 at the break.

N.C. Wesleyan led by 22 points with 15:41 left in the game, but the Hawks were able to cut the lead to nine points with 3:04 remaining. The Battling Bishops closed the game with 12-3 run.

Andre Ashley led the Hawks with 18 points while Brandon McLean scored 14 points and had eight rebounds.

Isaiah King added 15 points off the bench.
