139 Hawks earn USA South Academic All-Conference honors

FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. – More than 130 Huntingdon College student-athletes were recognized with the release of the USA South Academic All-Conference team on Monday. A total of 139 Hawks, representing each of Huntingdon's 18 athletic programs, were among the 1,446 USA South student-athletes named to the team.

Women's basketball player Juliette Harp and men's lacrosse player Sam Hitt were honored as the Huntingdon Female Student-Athlete of the Year and Male Student-Athlete of the Year during Wednesday night's Awards Ceremony.

Division III Week Student Spotlight - Wyatt Popovich

This week is NCAA Division III Week and member institutions across the country are celebrating the seventh-year event. Division III Week, which runs from Monday through Sunday, is intended to recognize the academic and athletic accomplishments as well as the campus leadership and community service efforts of Division III student-athletes. As part of Huntingdon College's participation in Division III Week, five student-athletes will be featured this week. Huntingdon senior Wyatt Popovich is today's featured student-athlete.

McLean named honorable mention All-Conference

FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. – Huntingdon senior Brandon McLean was recognized as honorable mention All-Conference by the USA South Athletic Conference with the release of the men’s basketball awards on Wednesday.

Four Hawks recognized as USA South Athletes of the Week

FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. – Four Huntingdon Hawks were recognized by the USA South Athletic Conference on Monday with the release of the conference’s Athletes of the Week awards. Brandon McLean was named Player of the Week for men’s basketball, Kendrick Ballard was named Player of the Week for men’s lacrosse, Bryce Coates was recognized as Rookie of the Week for men’s lacrosse and Matt Murphy was selected as Defensive Player of the Week for men’s lacrosse.

Senior Brandon McLean (#40) had a career-high 17 rebounds and matched his career-high with 23 points in Sunday's win at Berea.

Huntingdon ends season on three-game winning streak

BEREA, Ky. – The Huntingdon men’s basketball team closed out the season with a 71-54 win over Berea on Sunday.

Kyante Pines (#24) scored 21 points, including the game-winning 3-pointer in overtime, and Brandon McLean (#40) matched his career-high with 23 points to lead the Hawks past USA South West Division leader Maryville on Saturday.

MARYVILLE, Tenn. – Junior Kyante Pines hit a 3-pointer with one second left in overtime to lift the Huntingdon men’s basketball team to a 94-93 win over USA South West Division leader Maryville on Saturday.

Freshman Bryant Reid scored nine points, including two free throws to clinch the game, in Wednesday's 84-80 win over LaGrange.

MONTGOMERY, Ala. – The Huntingdon men’s basketball team fell behind late in the first half and lost to North Carolina Wesleyan 84-69 on Sunday.

Aaron Washington made a career-high six 3-pointers and scored a career-high 23 points in Saturday's loss to Pfeiffer.

Hawks and Falcons combine for 214 points in high-scoring battle

MONTGOMERY, Ala. – Six Hawks scored in double figures as the Huntingdon men’s basketball team tried to match Pfeiffer University’s high-scoring attack on Saturday. The Hawks turned in their best scoring effort since 2010 but came up short in a 112-102 shootout.
