Huntingdon bounces back with win over William Peace

MONTGOMERY, Ala. – Junior Kyante Pines and senior Brandon McLean combined for 41 points to lead the Huntingdon men's basketball team in a 75-62 win over William Peace on Sunday.

Pines scored a game-high 22 points and McLean added 19 points in the win. McLean also had 11 rebounds to record his second straight double-double. Pines and McLean did most of their scoring at the free-throw line, combining to make 24-of-26 free throws. Pines was 13-for-13 and McLean was 11-for-13.

After a first half in which neither team led by more than six points, Huntingdon trailed 30-29 at halftime. The game remained close until midway through the second half when Huntingdon began to pull ahead.

The Hawks used a 12-2 run to make it a 50-39 game with 8:55 to play. Huntingdon, which led by at least seven points for the remainder of the game, built a 12-point lead with 3:09 to play and a 15-point lead in the final minute.

Behind Pines and McLean, Charvez' Hobson added 10 points and Isaiah King finished with seven points, six rebounds and four assists.
