Huntingdon ends season on three-game winning streak

BEREA, Ky. – The Huntingdon men's basketball team closed out the season with a 71-54 win over Berea on Sunday.

The Hawks end the season with a three-game winning streak and an 11-14 record. The 11 wins are the most for the program since the 2013-14 season.

Senior Brandon McLean led the team with his ninth double-double of the season and his fifth double-double in the past seven games. McLean led all scorers with 23 points, matching his career-high for a second straight game, and pulled down a career-high 17 rebounds. He also had four blocked shots against the Mountaineers.

The Hawks took control of the game late in the first half and early in the second half. Leading 26-21 with 4:58 left in the opening half, Huntingdon went on an 18-3 run.

The Hawks carried a 32-21 lead into halftime and built their largest lead of the game, 44-24, with 14:58 left in the second half. Berea pulled within five points, 51-46, in the final seven minutes of the game, before Huntingdon closed the game with a 20-8 run.

Behind McLean, Trey Livingston added 10 points and R.J. Jones had nine points.
