Huntingdon rallies but comes up short at Birmingham-Southern

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – The Huntingdon men's basketball team came up short in an 83-73 loss to Birmingham-Southern on Saturday night in the Black Tie Classic.

The Hawks only trailed by three points, 76-73, with a minute to play but Birmingham-Southern used a 3-pointer and four free throws in the final 53 seconds to close out the game.

Huntingdon fell behind by 19 points midway through the first half before rallying. The Hawks pulled within eight points, 43-35 at halftime and tied the game 45-45 less than four minutes into the second half.

The Hawks never took the lead, but remained within six points of the Panthers until the final 4:08 of the game. Huntingdon continued to battle, pulling within three points on a Charvez' Hobson 3-pointer, with 1:12 to play.

Ceaunte Zachery led Huntingdon with 18 points and Aaron Washington added 15 points. Damien Madison scored 14 points and Hobson finished with 10 points and a team-high seven rebounds.
