Huntingdon men’s golf finishes 13th in Emory Spring Invitational
ATLANTA – Huntingdon shaved eight strokes off its first-round total and shot 301 in the final round of the Emory Spring Invitational on Tuesday. The Hawks finished 13th, shooting a 610 in the two-round tournament at Druid Hills Golf Club.
Methodist University shot 582 to win and Oglethorpe and Transylvania tied for second at 589.
LaGrange's Hudson Keener was the medalist with an 8-under-par 136. Keener shot 4-under 68 in each round. Transylvania's Justin Tereshko was second with a 6-under 138.
Huntingdon's Tyler Schmutz shot an even-par 72 in the final round and finished at 149. Sam Strachan, Jamey Lester and Rodes Bowers each shot 154 for the Hawks and Steven Smith shot 156.
Huntingdon returns to action in the Great South Athletic Conference tournament at Lagoon Park. The tournament is scheduled for April 22-24.
