Huntingdon men’s golf team headed to NCAA Championships for 8th straight year

MONTGOMERY, Ala. – The Huntingdon men's golf team is heading back to the NCAA Division III Championships.

The NCAA Division III Men's Golf Committee announced the tournament's field on Monday. The championships will be played May 15-18 at the Mission Inn Resort in Howey-in-the-Hills, Fla.

This is eighth straight year the Hawks have reached the NCAA Championships. Counting Huntingdon's final three seasons in NAIA, this is the 11th straight year the golf program has reached a championship tournament.

"I'm proud of our guys for the way they've battled this season," Huntingdon golf coach Matt Mahanic said. "We've played well at times this season and we've struggled at times, but our guys know the history of our program and they understand we have a tradition to uphold.

"We're looking forward to the tournament and we hope to put together our best rounds of golf this season."

The Hawks received a Pool C bid, as an at-large team, to this year's tournament. A total of 210 golfers (41 teams and five individuals) will compete in this year's championship.
