Hawks in fourth after opening round of O’Briant-Jensen Memorial

GREENSBORO, N.C. – Three Huntingdon golfers shot 76 or better to lead the Hawks in the first round of the O'Briant-Jensen Memorial on Monday.

Huntingdon shot 304 at the Cardinal Golf and Country Club and is in fourth entering Tuesday's final round. Greensboro College leads the field at 290, Guilford College is second at 291 and Methodist University is third at 293.

Huntingdon junior Rodes Bowers shot 3-over-par 73 and is tied for 10th after one round. Junior Tyler Schmutz and freshman David James are three strokes behind Bowers at 76 and tied for 19th. Junior Jamey Lester shot 79 and sophomore Steven Smith finished with an 83 in the opening round.

Greensboro's Scott Novicki turned in the low round on Monday with an even-par 70.
