Lester and Forehand lead Hawks in 1st round of Rhodes Classic

TUNICA, Miss. – Senior Jamey Lester and sophomore Chase Forehand each shot under-par on Sunday to lead the Huntingdon men's golf team in the opening round of the Rhodes College Fall Classic.

Lester shot a 2-under-par 70 at the Tunica National Golf Resort and is tied for second entering Monday's final round. Forehand shot a 1-under 71 and is tied for fifth. Senior Rodes Bowers shot a 6-over 78, junior Steven Smith shot 82 and senior Griffin Just shot an 83.

Oglethorpe's Anthony Maccaglia leads the field with a 6-under 66.

As a team, the Hawks are nine strokes out of first and tied for seventh at 301. Rhodes College leads the team standings at 292. Wittenberg and the University of Texas-Tyler are tied for second at 293.
