Lester ties for 4th as Huntingdon men’s golf finishes 8th in Rhodes Classic

TUNICA, Miss. – All five Huntingdon golfers shot in the 70s on Monday in the final round of the Rhodes College Fall Classic at the Tunica National Golf Resort.

Following a 2-under-par 70 in Sunday's first round, senior Jamey Lester shot a 2-over 74 to finish tied for fourth with an even-par 144. As a team, the Hawks shot 301 in each round and finished in eighth at 602.

Rhodes College shot 587 to win the tournament and Wittenberg University was second at 590. Oglethorpe's Anthony Maccaglia was the individual medalist with a 5-under 139.

Behind Lester, Huntingdon sophomore Chase Forehand shot 78 in the final round and finished tied for 22nd at 149. Senior Rodes Bowers shot a 2-over 74 on Monday and finished with a two-round total of 152. Senior Griffin Just shot a 3-over 75 in the final round and shot 158 for the tournament. Junior Steven Smith turned in a 78 on Monday and a score of 160 in two rounds.

Huntingdon returns to action on Oct. 7 in the Royal Lakes Invitational.
