Smith and Bowers lead Hawks in final round of Golfweek DIII Fall Inv.

DESTIN, Fla. – Huntingdon junior Steven Smith matched his best collegiate round and senior Rodes Bowers turned in his best collegiate round on Tuesday in the final round of the Golfweek Division III Fall Invitational.

Smith shot a 4-under-par 67 in the final round at the Raven Golf Club and Bowers shot a 2-under 69. Bowers finished the tournament with a score of 219 and Smith shot 221. Huntingdon freshman Will Thrash turned in a three-round total of 229, junior Tyler McLelland shot 231 and senior Jamey Lester finished at 234.

Oglethorpe's Anthony Maccaglia was the tournament medalist with a 7-under 206 during the three rounds.

Oglethorpe shot 847 to place first in the 18-team tournament. LaGrange was second at 866 and St. John Fisher College was third at 868. Huntingdon was 13th at 893.
