Hawks tied for 7th after first round of O’Briant-Jensen Memorial

GREENSBORO, N.C. – The Huntingdon men's golf team shot 307 on Monday and is tied for seventh entering Tuesday's final round of the O'Briant-Jensen Memorial.

Junior Steven Smith shot a 5-over-par 75 to lead the Hawks at the Sedgefield Dye Course. Seniors Rodes Bowers and Griffin Just both shot 77 and senior Jamey Lester and freshman Will Thrash each shot 78.

Averett University's Brandon Grogan leads the field with a 3-under 67. Greensboro leads the 17-team field at 293, Hampden-Sydney is second at 295 and Methodist is third at 297.
