Huntingdon’s Thrash earns USA South Golf Rookie of the Week

FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. – Huntingdon golfer Will Thrash was recognized by the USA South Athletic Conference as one of two Men's Golfers of the Week on Wednesday.

Thrash, a freshman from Prattville, Ala., was named the USA South Golf Rookie of the Week. Methodist's Jeff Wells was named the Golfer of the Week.

Thrash tied for 21st at the Callaway Gardens Intercollegiate last weekend with a 9-over-par 153. After shooting an 82 on the first day, Thrash bounced back with a 1-under 71 in the final round.

Golfer of the Week
Jeff Wells, Methodist - The senior from Redondo Beach, California finished tied for third at the Callaway Gardens Collegiate Invitational in Pine Mountain, Georgia last week by shooting an even-par 144. In the two-day event, Wells opened with a one-under par 71 and finished with a one-over par 73. His performance helped the Monarchs to a second place finish.
