Men’s golf ranked third in USA South preseason poll

FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. – The Huntingdon men's golf team enters the spring season ranked third in the USA South Athletic Conference.

The Hawks totaled 75 points in the preseason poll released on Thursday. Huntingdon is ranked behind preseason favorite Methodist and No. 2 LaGrange.

Methodist, which is ranked No. 5 in the Golfstat Division III national rankings, received nine first-place votes and 99 total points in the conference poll. In second, defending conference champion LaGrange picked up two first-place votes and 91 points.

Methodist finished fourth in the 2014 NCAA Division III National Championships and LaGrange tied for eighth.

Rounding out the top-5 in the conference poll are fourth-place Ferrum with 73 points and fifth-place Greensboro with 71 points.

This is Huntingdon's second season as a member of the USA South. The Hawks open the spring season in the Callaway Invitational on Feb. 28.
