Hawks finish 5th, Anderson ties for 4th in Wynlakes Intercollegiate

MONTGOMERY, Ala. – The Huntingdon men's golf team closed out the Wynlakes Intercollegiate with a 303 on Tuesday.

The Hawks finished fifth in the 10-team tournament with a score of 607. LaGrange won the tournament with a score of 577. Guilford College was second at 583.

Playing as an individual, Huntingdon freshman Alan Anderson finished six strokes out of first and tied for fourth with a 36-hole total of 145. Anderson shot a 3-over-par 75 on Monday and a 2-under 70 on Tuesday.

Sophomore Garrett Harrison finished two strokes behind Anderson and tied for ninth at 147. Harrison shot a 1-over 73 in the first round and a 2-over 74 in the final round.

LaGrange's Cory Howard was the medalist for a second straight year with a 5-under 139. Howard turned in the best round of the tournament with a 4-under 68 on Tuesday.

Behind Harrison's 147, freshman Mac Harris shot 152 for the Hawks and tied for 19th. Junior David James shot 154, senior Steven Smith shot 156 and sophomore Will Thrash shot 157.

Playing as individuals, freshman Jon Colten Stanaland shot 156, freshman Peter Scrimgeour shot 164 and freshman Seth Johnson shot 165.

Huntingdon will play in the Emory Spring Invitational on April 6-7.
