Shephard sweeps USA South Golfer of the Week honors

FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. – After winning his first collegiate tournament on Tuesday, freshman Stephen Shephard earned two more honors on Wednesday.

Shephard was named USA South Golfer of the Week and Rookie of the Week after leading Huntingdon to its third win of the season in the Wynlakes Intercollegiate.

With the win, the Hawks move up two positions and are currently ranked No. 8 in the Golfstat Division III national rankings.

The Niceville, Fla. native shot his best round at Huntingdon with a 3-under 69 in the final round and finished with a 3-under 141. Tied with Emory's Stefano Butti after 36 holes, Shephard won the tournament on a playoff hole. Shephard was tied for fifth entering the final round.
