Lambeth finishes second in Barbasol Shootout

COLUMBUS, Ohio – Huntingdon junior Addison Lambeth shot a 3-over-par 73 and finished second in the Barbasol Shootout on Saturday at Scioto Country Club.

Lambeth, who won the Division III Jack Nicklaus National Player of the Year Award on Thursday, was competing against the Jack Nicklaus Award winners from Division I, Division II, NAIA and the NJCAA for an exemption into the PGA Tour's Barbasol Championship.

Arizona State's Jon Rahm, a two-time All-American and two-time Ben Hogan Award winner who had a 69.41 scoring average and shot 22 rounds in the 60s this season, won the Barbasol Shootout and the exemption with a 2-under 68.

Behind Rahm and Lambeth, Johnson and Wales' Peter French (NAIA winner) was third with a 4-over 74, Eastern Florida State's Kerry Sweeney (NJCAA winner) was fourth with a 5-over 75 and Florida Southern's John Coultas (Division II winner) was fifth with a 7-over 77.

All five Jack Nicklaus Award winners will receive their awards from Nicklaus on Sunday at Muirfield Village Golf Club.
