Huntingdon B-Team ties for 4th in Chick-fil-A Invitational

ROME, Ga. – The Huntingdon men's golf B-Team competed in the Chick-fil-A Collegiate Invitational and tied for 4th in the field of 15.

The Hawks shot a 300 on Monday and a 299 on Tuesday to finish with a score of 599 for the two-round tournament which included six nationally ranked teams.

Fifth-ranked Rhodes College won the event with a two-round total of 571. 13th-ranked LaGrange finished one-stroke off the lead with a 572 while 14th-ranked Berry placed third with a total of 596. The Hawks tied with N.C. Wesleyan for fourth.

"This was a great test for our players," associate head golf coach Ashley Crane said. "It shows how deep our men's program is and it was nice to beat some of the better teams in the nation."

Freshman Alex Aulerich turned in a two-under-par 70 on Monday and a two-over 74 on Tuesday for an even-par 144. Aulerich tied for sixth in the field of 94. Jon Colten Stanaland shot 78 on Monday and one-over 73 on Tuesday for a two-round total of 151.

Drew Mathers shot 156 while Chase Feagin finished with a 158 two-day total. Mark Connelly shot 159 and Sterling Dixon shot 174 as an individual.

"Coach Ashley did a great job guiding the B-Team into a fourth place finish where they beat several nationally ranked teams," director of golf Dave Schryer said. "This shows our depth and that our future is bright."
